Hi and welcome to Team up’s comic corner where each week I’ll highlight a comic issue or series, past or present, that everyone should check out to make the most of nerd culture going on around us.
So for our first meeting, let’s go full blast and get weird! This week I want to turn everyone’s attention to a series that really brought nostalgic feelings to the forefront while still feeling fresh and new: Rocko’s Modern Afterlife!
This 4 issue mini series from BOOM! Studios goes all out and puts everyone’s favorite wallaby in a living nightmare when the undead start to rise. The series picks up with Rocko and Spunky locked indoors safe and sound, but when Rocko finds out that Heffer is bit by his infected parents he realizes that he has to try and be a hero to save his best friend and the rest of the citizens of O-Town. This comic is full of classic show call backs and some surprises that are sure to leave you wanting more. This is a great start to anyone who is looking to prepare for the Halloween season! Unfortunately this is only 4 issues but it’s the perfect hold over until the new Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling movie premiers on Netflix August 9th.
