Here we are at Summer Snacks 2021 Pt 2! Side note, to check out the first part of the series click right hurrrrrrr. You know the drill, checking out the newest snacks for 2021 and whether or not they're worth snatching up. There has been a great variety so far but, this time, it's all about the Lay's! Four different kinds of Lay's item's all new and fitting to the summer season. Also, forgive me, I messed up and didn't find the last item until later so the first image only has 3 out of 4 items. Whoops..... anyways..

SUMMER BLT LAYS

Up first, we have the Summer BLT flavored Lay's. The safest path for Lay's to take; a true summer picnic classic. The packaging for these really hits the summer vibe nail right on the head. The only thing missing is the Nickelodeon ants from that one bumper.

I'll say, I'm a decently sized fan of BLT's and this didn't fail me much. It does have a nice bacon flavor in there along with a faint hint of tomato. Lettuce on the other hand... I'm not even sure how to emulate something like that into potato chip form so I'll be easy on this one and let it pass. They're good, I could eat these all day.

I'm going to go with a 7 out of 10 for the Summer BLT. The packaging, being the real hero here, really saved it from being a 6.5.

WAVY JERK CHICKEN LAY'S

Next up, we have what I was most stoked for. I'm not a fan of wavy chips but these sound so amazing that the wave would have to do this round. Traditional spicy sweet and smoky jerk flavor in every bag the back boasts.

Spice? Check. Not too spicy, I'll add; just enough zing to keep it interesting but not need a bottle of water. Sweet? Check. The brown sugar really comes through in these. Smoky? Check check check. I'd also like to add that these absolutely have chicken flavor added to them and it makes it’s presence known. This is a fucking good chip, waves and all.

I can't go any lower than 10. These are a must have and I hope they manage to find there way back through future summers.

CHILE MANGO LAY'S

Possibly the wildest of the bunch unless you're familiar with dousing mangos with Tajin powder already. I had no idea that was a thing and that I was probably the only one to think this was a weird flavor profile for Lay's to release.

Truth is, I finished this bag first. It's an instant favorite along side the Jerk flavor. You can smell the fruitiness from the mango as you open the bag and it is the prominent flavor I pick up. Like the jerk flavor, the spice is there but not enough to make you sweat. There is also a nice hint of lime in there as well which is appreciated.

I gotta say it; it's another 10 out of 10. These are summery as fuck and taste amazing.

MEXICAN STREET CORN CHEETOS

Last, but not least, the Mexican Street Corn flavored Cheetos. I was almost certain I wouldn't find these after a month of searching and then they finally popped up in the small bags at the local Wal-Mart.

Cheetos are a corn based snack already but the corn really sticks out in these ones specifically; more so than regular old Cheetos. They are on the parmesan and romano cheese side making these considerably different from other cheetos. They also have a spiciness to them but for the most part it's pretty mellow. Every once in a while I'll get a nice tangy one that has extra lime flavor than the rest of the bunch. All of a sudden I crave lime flavor on all of my chips.

I know you're probably thinking "jeez, Grimey... another 10?" Yeah, sorry. I'm not just talking shit when I say this but Frito Lay really knocked it out of the park with all of these. Another 10 goes to the Cheetos!

In conclusion, if you like chips with TONS of flavor, these are all completely worth picking up with the BLT ones being at the bottom of the totem pole. I snagged the Jerk, BLT and Mango Chile at Dollar General but found them in big bags at Walmart. The Cheetos, I could only find at Walmart in small bags close to the check out. Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for possibly one or two more summer 2021 junk reviews!
