Did you know it takes 7 to 14 days to make a single Jelly Belly jelly bean? Well, it’s going to take all of .5 seconds to devour  about 100 of them for this review. Here, we have the Jelly Belly Holiday Favorites. I’m fairly familiar with Jelly Belly, with my favorites being toasted marshmallow, buttered popcorn and blueberry however I’ve never tried any of these before so this should be a real treat.

The holiday favorites consist of hot chocolate, eggnog, pumpkin pie, candy cane and cranberry sauce. Right away, I’m most excited for the eggnog and least excited for candy cane and probably hot chocolate, honestly. I also have to comment quickly on the packaging which is green and red and has Jelly Belly on the front with a Santa hat and some playful cartoony images of the flavors with their respective names below.

Starting from what I will assume is better to worse, pumpkin pie. It’s a nice orange color but also kinda says citrus to me. Maybe I’m just a picky bitch. It takes a minute for the flavor to fully develop to the taste buds. The flavor is more on the pumpkin pie spice side where it tastes like a spoonful of the spice rather than a fresh cut slice of pumpkin pie. Not my favorite. It almost taste kinda burnt; not at all how I picture this going.

Eggnog. Spot the fuck on. I can taste the vanilla and the nutmeg. They did a great job on this flavor. Does it replace eggnog in a glass? No. It is interesting to have it in a jelly bean though.

Cranberry Sauce I’ll admit is one of my least favorite holiday foods but is slowly starting to grow on me. It depends on what it is. I kinda like the canned kind but I really enjoy homemade. I really enjoy this jelly bean! It’s pretty spot on as far as canned cranberry sauce goes but with a slightly more berry flavor which I dig. It’s slightly tart in the beginning but simmers down towards the end.

So, this is HOT chocolate. I wonder if they’ll play up some on that “HOT” aspect and put some kind of chili extract in it. Not at all, it tastes like a tootsie roll at first but then turns a little on the smooth side. It’s pretty close to a cup of Swiss Miss honestly. I assumed this would be a lot worse than it was.

And, last and probably least, Candy Cane. Arguably the prettiest looking in the bunch and very reminiscent of that tooti fruitie jelly bean look but surely going to taste like toothpaste. Oh yeah, that’s toothpaste if I ever tasted it. Pretty close to those red and white mint candies. So, if you’re into that (I’m sure someone is) these are accurately flavored.

In conclusion I’m surprised to announce that my favorites are the Hot Chocolate, Eggnog and Cranberry Sauce ones with Candy Cane and Pumpkin Pie being my least favorite. The winner for absolute worst…. *drum roll* PUMPKIN PIE. Hate to say it but this one just didn’t sit with me well at all which is bad considering Candy Cane was what it was up against. So there you have it! I found these at Ross and TjMaxx stores but I’m sure you can find them in other places that sell Jelly Belly items. Thanks for reading!
